Financial Tip:

There is more to planning for retirement than the financials. Be sure to have an idea of what you will be retiring to. Whether that be a hobby, a cause, being a grandparent, or something else...have a plan for your new 9-5!

Fun Facts:

  • I am #89,482 on the Green Bay Packers season ticket waiting list. I started at well over #100,000 back in 2013.
  • I have seen a game in 19 MLB stadiums, 11 Big Ten football stadiums, and 6 NFL stadiums. I am trying to get to all of them!
  • I grew up a die-hard Hawkeye fan but ended up going to Iowa State for my bachelor’s degree. It was hard to wear cardinal and gold at first but I’m glad I did because that is where my wife and I met.

Ben's Role:

Financial Planner

Professional Background:

Ben Geiger  is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ practitioner at Syverson Strege. His main duties include preparing documents for planning and investment meetings that are conducted with clients throughout the year, maintaining follow up items after meetings, and completing various planning and investment projects as needed.

Born and raised in Cedar Rapids, Iowa, Ben attended Iowa State University and completed his bachelor’s degree in finance in 2017. Prior to working at Syverson Strege, he worked as an Investment Advisor for a firm in Johnston, Iowa.

Outside of work I spend most of my time with my family. My wife Anne and I currently live in Urbandale with our daughter Hallie and mini goldendoodle Lambeau. I am a self-proclaimed “lawn guy” and am always looking to improve my home’s exterior. I am also an avid sports fan and enjoy traveling to many different stadiums around the country. When not tinkering in the lawn or checking another stadium off my list, you can often find my family and I working on a home or landscape project, enjoying the array of experiences the Des Moines metro has to offer, or checking out a new travel destination.
